Application of Situated Learning in Virtual Reality Classroom
Learning Planets and Motion Trajectories in Grade 9
This project aims to apply VR technology to design an immerse learning classroom, demonstrating the use of virtual reality (VR) technology to simulate astronomical phenomena in a VR environment to learn a unit on astrophysics. Astrophysics, as a complex and profound science, involves some abstract concepts, which are difficult for beginners to understand. Situated learning theory believes that only when immersed in a real environment can learners get rid of abstract concepts and make learning easier. The project also evaluate learning outcomes to demonstrate why VR is the best way to learn astrophysics and to demonstrate situated learning.
The artifact is a poster designed to showcase how to design classrooms and teaching methods to display relevant research findings and conclusions.
